A Health and Safety Program for Kindergarten Youth with Kindergarten Standards
This six week, 30 to 40 minute class introduces children to ways to develop a strong, positive self-image and positive character traits through emphasis on the importance of healthy lifestyles and encouraging children to do their best.

Acquaint the children with the instructor and the program. View the movie “Meet the Count on Me” Kids. Discuss the 5 basic “Count on Me” characters and what they stand for. |

Session 2 |

Increase the children’s awareness of trying our best in everything. Look at events in the child’s life where they have learned the value of trying their best. Children will learn the importance of caring for themselves and others. Learn how to give and receive compliments and what to do if someone teases you. |

Help the children learn the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Learn about the 5 food groups, how to have healthy snacks, and the importance of rest and exercise. |

Session 4 |

Increase each child’s awareness of basic safety rules. Role play different events that children may encounter where safety is a factor. |

Learn about good and bad habits. Discuss the importance of “Saying No” to bad habits like alcohol, drugs, and smoking. |
